Job Description

This position is responsible for planning, scheduling and ensuring sufficient resources are available to achieve production targets while focusing on and adhering to quality, cost, inventory & efficiency objectives.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities:

•           Planning and organizing production schedules.

•           Ensuring that health and safety regulations are met.

•           Determining and achieving quality control standards.

•           Overseeing production processes.

•           Achieving targets and schedules.

•           Oversee the selecting, ordering and purchasing of materials.

•           Organizing the repair and routine maintenance of production equipment.

•           Supervising and mentoring the work of junior staff

•           Organizing relevant training sessions.

•           Participate in developing annual department budgets.

Required Skills & Knowledge:

•           A Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related technical field.

•           10+ years working in Production departments in the Avionics/Electronics Industry.

•           5+ years of experience as a Production Manager.

•           The successful candidate must be able to work in Canada and to obtain CGP (Controlled Goods Program) clearance and be eligible for access to ITAR (International Traffic in Arms Regulations) controlled data/hardware.

•           Occasional international travel is anticipated; therefore, candidates will need to provide proof that they may travel nationally or internationally with no travel or visa restrictions.

Job Qualifications

Additional Qualifications:

•           Highly motivated, goal and results oriented with bias for action and disciplined execution.

•           Knowledge of SATCOM products and their manufacture.

•           Experience utilizing ERP and MRP systems.

•           Knowledge of RF and Electrical Test Equipment

•           Knowledge of RF design, especially in the X, Ku and Ka-bands.

•           Understanding of FAR 21 (OEM-Factory) and FAR 145 (Repair Station).

•           Understanding and compliance to export regulation and ITAR information.

•           Knowledge of Interchangeability and Configuration Management.

•           Awareness of product test requirements and limitation of test equipment to replicate aircraft.

•           Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement, 5S, and Kaizen.
