Job Description

Skilled candidate needed to develop and improve the RF and electrical testing (hardware and software) of SATCOM products. The successful candidate will be responsible for all aspects of product testing and will be required to lead a small team. As a Test Engineer, you will be tasked with analyzing complex technical system and develop & implement automated testing.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities:

•           Develop new and improve existing product testing with inputs from Production Staff.

•           Integrate electrical and RF test equipment to ensure product meet specifications.

•           Develop standard work for troubleshooting and test processes.

•           Develop documentation, including, test plans, software test documentation, hardware schematics, test reports and test procedures.

 Required Skills & Knowledge:

•           A Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related technical field.

•           10+ years in the Avionics/Electronics Industry.

•           5+ years of Test Engineering design or troubleshooting.

•           The successful candidate must be able to work in Canada and to obtain CGP (Controlled Goods Program) clearance and be eligible for access to ITAR (International Traffic in Arms Regulations) controlled data/hardware.

Job Qualifications

•           Occasional international travel is anticipated; therefore, candidates will need to provide proof that they may travel nationally or internationally with no travel or visa restrictions.

Additional Qualifications:

•           Highly motivated, goal and results oriented with bias for action and disciplined execution.

•           Knowledge of SATCOM products and testing procedures.

•           Extensive knowledge of RF and Electrical Test Equipment

•           Demonstrated ability to integrate test equipment to efficiently test products.

•           Ability to write test software in LabView or other development environments.

•           Knowledge of RF design, especially in the X, Ku and Ka-bands.

•           Understanding of FAR 21 (OEM-Factory) and FAR 145 (Repair Station).

•           Understanding and compliance to export regulation and ITAR information.

•           Knowledge of Interchangeability and Configuration Management.

•          Awareness of product test requirements and limitation of test equipment to replicate aircraft.

•           Knowledge of Digital and Analog component systems.

•           Knowledge of FAA regulations & processes on avionics and related software.

•           Experience in network protocols – specifically TCP/IP, SNMP, TFTP, ISDN, NAT/PAT, Cisco IOS.

•           Experience in various interfaces – ARINC, RS-232, RS-422, USB, Ethernet.

•           Experience with Linux.
