Job Description

Our company is developing the next generation retinal implant to return sight to blind people. We’re building a team of multidisciplinary leaders, experts and doers who are dedicated to transforming lives and are defining what tomorrowlooks like.

Key Responsibilities

• Working with the marketing team and stakeholders to refine product requirements

• Designing to value at the system level, delivering detailed product requirements and engineering solutions including a proof of concept MVP

• Documenting design and engineering within a quality process meeting regulatory standards

• Producing a detailed, costed development plan for productization of key components of the our latest projectaligned with identified commercial, strategic and user requirements

Execution requires detailed collaboration with staff, external consultants and vendors.

Job Qualifications

Technical Qualifications

We are growing a diverse team of engineers, so no one person has to have all of these:

• Extensive experience with all phases of development, from research prototypes to highly regulated manufacturing to market-ready advanced electronic devices

• An understanding of photonics power and data transmission and an excellent

understanding of ASIC design


• Experience working with high-speed layout, laser signal / power integrity, and power management for ASIC design

• Ability to clearly define project descriptions, critical path and identify skill sets and talent to meet team project objectives

• Fluency in Cadence, Allegro, or Altium tools and/or experience with other ASIC design tools and methodology

• Experience with high-data rate communication standards and wireless communication

• Microelectromechanical systems

• Experience with ARM, x86, assembly, system BIOS and hardware/software integration

• Programming experience on Linux in Python, C, C++, Verilog, or VHDL

• Familiarity setting up embedded toolchains, build, and debugging environments

Experience with Wi-Fi, BLE, USB, TCP/IP stacks in an embedded environment.
