This is a full-time position, based in Ottawa, Canada.

Job summary:

Reporting to the General Manager, this position is responsible for supporting budget development, financial reporting and the day-to-day accounting functions of the company, including posting journal entries, budget preparation, tracking cash flow and bank reconciliations, ensuring effective, efficient, and accurate financial and accounting operations. This position is also responsible for supporting daily company affair.

Roles & Responsibilities:

$·         Perform full cycle accounting duties including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and General Ledger

$·         Support month-end accounting processes, reconciliation and analysis of monthly g/l accounts. Make monthly financial reports

$·         Liaison with the Chinese parent company officers regarding financial reports, budgets, A/P, A/R, bank reconciliations and special projects, proactively researching and resolving issues as required

$·         Prepare annual financial statement, HST filling and tax filling and other government reports.

$·         Prepare SRED application for the company.

$·         Prepare payroll for employees. Track working hours of employees, ensure the hours worked are approved by the respective manager before data entry.

$·         Prepare and maintain budgets and schedules for multiple projects, and tracks project spending

$·         Develop and implement policies, processes, and procedures to ensure proper accounting function and financial documentation is provided.

$·         Oversee inventory counts and reports reconciliations

$·         Maintain a high level of confidentiality with regards to company matters

$·         Other financial and accounting related duties as assigned

$·         Help office manager and office administer with company daily affairs

Job Qualifications


$·         Minimum college level Accounting or Business Diploma or equivalent education and experience

$·         Minimum 3 years in progressive experience in accounting office environment. (Experience working in a high-pace technology environment would be an asset)

$·         General knowledge of A/P and A/R, general ledger accounts structure

$·         Able to manage multiple projects and priorities; Able to adapt and change priorities at a moment’s notice in fast-pace environment

$·         Fluent in both English and Mandarin. Chinese and English financial reporting writing skill is a must

$·         Excellent computer skills, with experience using MS Office, Accounting Software’s, proficiency in Excel

$·         Well organized, accurate with strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy

$·         Effective writing and communication skills

$·         Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

$·         Ability to work both independently, and as a part of a team
