IT Support & Software Administrator - KEY
Reporting to the General Manager, the IT Support & Software Administrator manages all software and hardware used in our business (office and on site) as well as provides desktop, server and network support to our users by troubleshooting hardware and software issues in order to maintain business continuity. This position works within a very flexible but highly demanding environment, constantly interacting with many different users both in the office and directly on job sites.
This role is responsible for establishing and executing a proper preventive desktop, server and network maintenance plan and continuously ensuring the security and integrity of the Company’s electronic data. It also manages the life cycle, maintenance, repair and disposal of computer and peripheral assets.
The Company’s cell device portfolio which includes cell phones, smart phones, tablets and internet hubs (ordering, replacement, troubleshoot) is also managed by this role.
Position Attributes and Skills:
$· Excellent communication skills in both French and English
$· Prior desktop/network support experience with Windows/MS Office/Printers with above average troubleshooting and technical diagnostics.
$· Experience in creating reports and/or writing SQL queries considered an asset
$· Comfortable working at the office or on job sites with a flexible and variable work schedule, including some evenings and weekend hours when updates are required
$· Aptitude for creating and maintaining thorough documentation
$· Installing and configuration of new workstation, servers, peripherals and network equipment on site and in the office.
$· Network, workstation, server, and application performance diagnostics.
$· Adding/removing workstations to/from domains and migrating user profiles.
$· Installing, configuring, and troubleshooting routers.
$· Adding and troubleshooting local and remote printers and copiers.
$· Modifying user accounts and rights in Active Directory.
$· Maintaining print and file servers including NAS devices.
$· Configuring various software accounts.
$· Managing backup systems and plans.
$· Virus and malware rescue.
$· Hardware maintenance.
$· Mobile device support.
$· Construction experience considered an asset but not a requirement.
